A churning, smoky, and doomed affair. Gone is much of the adventurous, sword-and-sorcery battle hymn of Forever Black and earlier; this is a trudging march of grim and dark resolve. A well-chosen album name. This was a different direction than I expected, so I will have to screw my head on right to give it a re-listen, but I think it will please even more. Many of the melodies take shadowy turns of half-tone tension, evoking the dire fate hanging overhead as mighty heavy lyrics damn you.
