about

STEVE MONTOYA:

"THIS SONG IS ALMOST ALL WESLEY’S EXCEPT FOR THE LYRICS AND THE VOCAL MELODY. HE HAD IT FOR A SONG CALLED “THROW GRANDMA OFF THE TRAIN” OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. HE USED TO DO IT WITH HIS PREVIOUS BAND AND THEY USED TO DO IT MORE LIKE A THRASH METAL SONG. I CHANGED THE MELODY AND RE-WROTE THE LYRICS ABOUT A GENIE THAT TRICKS A GUY TO LET HIM OUT BY PROMISING HIM ALL THESE TREASURES AND ONCE HE IS FINALLY OUT HE BEGINS TERRORIZING EVERYONE. WE USED TO GET A LOT OF REQUESTS FOR THIS ONE WHEN WE WOULD PLAY LIVE."

lyrics

I've been around for ages
Locked in this tomb of gold
If you are the one to free me
Great treasures you'll behold

Across the desert I'll take you
On a carpet ride
Don't be afraid, release me
Just rub the lantern's side

Now the time has come for me
I have the power to change all you see
So many years I have dreamed of the day
When once again I would be on my way

All around the kingdom my story has been told
Cities will fall before me
I never will grow old
