about
PABLO ROYBAL:
"THIS SONG WAS HEAVILY INSPIRED BY TWO THINGS: MUSICALLY BY A BRUCE DICKINSON SOLO TRACK CALLED "RETURN OF THE KING" AND LYRICALLY BY STEPHEN KING'S DARK TOWER SAGA. INITIALLY, I HAD INTENDED FOR THIS TRACK TO BE MUCH MORE EXPLICITLY ABOUT THE DARK TOWER HENCE THE REFERENCE TO THE "TRAIN RUN OFF IT'S TRACK" AND THE FIRST LINES WHICH MIRROR THE FIRST LINES OF THE FIRST BOOK. I LATER DECIDED TO MAKE THE REFERENCE MORE METAPHORICAL AND MORE ABSTRACT. THE DRAGON REFERENCE DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE MYTHOLOGICAL BEAST BUT RATHER AS A METAPHOR FOR ANYTHING THAT IS PURSUED AND SOUGHT AFTER THAT IS BIGGER AND GREATER THAN THE PEOPLE WHO QUEST FOR IT. IT'S REALLY ABOUT PEOPLE WHO PURSUE SOMETHING TO NO END EVEN IF IT MEANS THE VERY DEATH OF THEM."
lyrics
Across the desert sands
Through many foreign lands
And to the end, your obsession
A train run off it’s track
You’ve been to hell and back
Driven by demons, your possession
No lines are drawn where boundaries end
Forbidden roads become the tracks left behind
A slave to the choice you make
This fate from which you can’t escape
Breaking the dawn another day
To chase the dragons to the end
The hands of time now rust away
And by their mark you won’t depend
Live by the path you set
Time won’t forget the scars that you incurred
You lived the life of twenty men
To chase the dragon down
Forewarnings you deride
The drive it won’t subside
Glory nor wealth you require
And all the doors passed through
The albatross pursues
Forgotten dreams, your desire
No lines are drawn where boundaries end
Forbidden roads become the tracks left behind
A slave to the choice you make
This fate from which you can’t escape
Breaking the dawn another day
To chase the dragons to the end
The hands of time now rust away
And by their mark you won’t depend
Live by the path you set
Time won’t forget the scars that you incurred
You lived the life of twenty men
To chase the dragon down

Allow me to copy Pagan Altar's third album title to describe not only III:Pentecost but the whole discography of Wytch Hazel so far: well, yes, it's Magical and Mythical!!! A must-have for the lovers of 70's hard sound revival. BoneWalker

Having followed Richard Lagergren's musical career, from Eidomantum to Portrait, it was pretty darn obvious that my support would extend to the mighty SOURCE! Emilinator
